Although companies may follow different eLearning development paths, certain steps must be followed to ensure an effective system. These phases include ‘Analysis’, the first step, and ‘Learning Management System’, the last phase. These steps will be explained in the following:
Analysis This is often the first step in developing an eLearning content process. The organization must be able to analyze its target audience and learn content. Once you have decided on a course to follow, consider the goals. An instructional strategy must be developed to present the content to the intended audience properly.
Instructional design: This documented plan for instructional design considers problem-solving, implementing scenarios, and modules. This stage outlines how content will be broken down into modules, courses, screens, etc. It is designed. If multiple courses are required to be created in a project, each course is designed using a unique Instructional Design strategy and plan. This stage combines all instructional and visual elements.
Script At this stage, all course content is completed and divided into modules. The content for each screen can then be finalized. The module’s components are then considered and finalized. The scripting document can be created in either a Word or PowerPoint presentation.
Course Development: This stage involves the creation of a practical course without audio presence. The same is submitted for approval by stakeholders. Any modifications to the narration and content are up to the stakeholders. After approval, audio production for the course(s) will begin. An audio script must be completed after the content and narration have been finalized. This is because it is a cost-intensive step that needs to be complemented with the audio. After all, stakeholders approve the audio script, and the audio file can only be finalized.
Course development using audio: After the audio script has been finalized, the course is sent back to stakeholders for review. To ensure that the audio file is accurate in pronunciation and quality, it must be compatible with the text and animation.
Develop the Learning Management System: This is the final stage in eLearning course creation. This stage is more technical than the other five, which are more creative. All stakeholders must ensure that the course meets SCROM, AICC or XAPI standards. Once everything has been approved, the course can be hosted on the learning platform.
Any eLearning content should be engaging and can keep readers’ attention. There are many phases involved in content development. The goal is to make sure that readers have the best experience possible. Organizations have many learning options to choose from, making it possible for them to create the most appropriate course for their target audience.
